After living in New Jersey my whole life, I love the changing of seasons and I totally refresh my home each time a new one approaches. Fall is one of my favorite times of year, and to celebrate, I like to add autumnal flair to my home decor. Fall's natural earthy color palette is ideal for bringing warmth to your space. And I'm all about incorporating nature into my decorations, like leaves, figs, and, yes, pumpkins. At the same time, I want my fall decor to feel tasteful and elevated; I want everything to look expensive, even if it wasn't.

Though I'll include pumpkins in the mix, I try to find artful pieces that have an unexpected touch like velvet, paper, or glass. And I think of everyday items — like a pitcher or a hand mixer — that add a fall-friendly touch simply by the choice of material or color.
My favorite tip for revamping your home for fall is to buy pieces you can easily change out from season to season: think a glass vase that you can fill with pomegranate and pumpkin cornucopia in autumn, or pillows you can transform with a simple earth-tone cover.
